TRAVEL purse | supply sources

Just because you may have done your fair share of sewing garments, there's a good chance you have never sewn leather by hand. No worries! Here is a list of all the supplies + tools I use in the creating the TRAVEL purse, including possible substitutions for tools to help reduce the start-up costs for this kind of project.

SUPPLIES

  • leather for purse: 12” x 18” (30cm x 45cm) of leather that is 3 – 4 oz in weight (or 1.2 – 1.6mm in thickness) from Tandy or Amazon
  • leather for strap: approx. 50" long x 3/8” wide (125cm x 1cm) leather that is 4 - 5 oz (or 1.6 to 2.0 mm in thickness) from Tandy or Amazon
  • waxed thread: at least 10m of waxed nylon thread from Tandy or Amazon
  • button studs: 4 screw back button studs 8x5x8mm - Tandy (10 pack) or Amazon (20 pack) (note, you will need a 4mm hole punch - see tools below - if you purchase your button studs from Tandy)
