TRAVEL purse | tester round-up + inpspiration

This pattern is quite a change from my others, in that it is a hand sewn accessory and meant for leather. That said, the design is also older than any of the clothing patterns I have available!

If memory serves correctly, I originally designed this small purse in 2014. I was feeling inspired by the small shoulder purses we wore back in the 80s, where you would tie a knot at the top of the strap. If you know, you know:) Anyway, I also wanted something that would fit only the necessities, but still have a few different pockets. And while I wanted to be able to wear it as a shoulder purse, I also thought it would be very cool if it could transform into a fashionable little "fanny pack" as well. Simple, right?

The purse in its most current iteration has traveled with me to multiple countries and joins me nearly every day that I am not working (at which point I use a larger bag to carry lunch, a water bottle, and a million and one other things). Needless to say, I love it and think (hope!) that you might love it, too!

As always, this pattern has been tested by a few of my amazing testers. Although it had already been informally tested during a number of workshops that I gave on Saba in 2023, I knew these testers would go through the details with a fine-toothed comb to make sure everything was just right.
