midi skirt ROMA | PDF sewing pattern

Regular price $10.00 Sale

This modern, minimalist pencil skirt gently hugs your hips, yet allows for free movement thanks to the rounded side slit. ROMA will be the skirt you pair with a white button-down blouse and black heels when you want to feel put together and powerful. But it'll also be the skirt you pair with a simple tank or T, sandals and a tote as you stroll through the markets of Rome.

This is a PDF pattern. Views A and B can be sewn on a standard sewing machine. View C is for a serger (overlocker) and standard sewing machine. The pattern is drafted for wovens, but it easily adjusted to suit knits! Tips are included in the pattern instructions.

This is a computer drafted, print and cut PDF pattern, printable in black/white or color. The A0/copyshop file is included in your purchase. The pattern includes all sizes, but the size views can be easily toggled on or off in order to print only the size you want to make. Step-by-step, illustrated instructions are included for standard sewing machine and serger (overlocker) and provide extensive detail.

In order to get a fit similar to the photo, choose a pattern size that is 2 to 3 cm (3/4" to 1-1/4") wider than your own full hip (the widest point of your hips, around your bum) measurement.

Light- or medium weight denim(like) wovens are best for midi-skirt ROMA. These offer a good, sturdy structure no matter the weight, but also with a bit of give so that you can move easily. If you choose to work with a fabric with stretch (knits), then a tighter stretch, such as stretch denim or a heavier weight interlock, is best. These fabrics will hold their form better than lighter weight, super stretchy fabrics. Depending on the stretch, you will need to go down a (partial) size.

Easy to make, fun to wear!

I enjoyed sewing the midi skirt ROMA! Using cotton twill is a great choice for the ROMA midi skirt, and using a serger gave it a clean and professional finish. I’ve made 3 so far this summer. Great staples to have in my wardrobe to pull on and go!
