boat neck ANEGADA | PDF sewing pattern

Regular price $14.00 Sale

Named after the sparsely populated and northern-most of the British Virgin Islands, boat neck ANEGADA is a semi-fitted super basic with an unconventional feminine touch.

View A features a wider neckline, displaying a little extra shoulder. The raw edge allows the fabric to roll over nonchalantly, exposing the inside of the fabric and creating a cowl neckline, depending upon the knit of the fabric. View B is a true everyday boat neck with mini box pleats. Depending on your choice of fabric, this universally flattering single pattern can truly take you from the gym to the opera and is sure to become an absolute favorite in any capsule wardrobe.

This pattern was drafted for a B/C cup and approx. 168 cm or 5ft.6in. Step-by-step illustrated instructions assume you'll be using a regular sewing machine, but you may opt to use a serger if you have one.

GENERAL INFO
This is a computer drafted, print and cut, layered PDF pattern, printable in black/white or color. The A0/copyshop file is included in your purchase. The pattern includes all sizes, but the size views can be easily toggled on or off in order to print either all sizes or only the size(s) you want to make.

SIZING + FABRIC
boat neck ANEGADA sizing

This pattern works best with light- to medium-weight knits with some drape, such as jersey, bamboo or rayon jersey, interlock, t-shirt weight merino, French terry and lightweight sweat-shirting, with 25% to 100% stretch. Fabric requirements are based on a size 10. They assume you are using a one-directional print as well as the same fabric for the neck, arm- and/or waistbands as the bodice + sleeves. Less fabric may be needed for smaller sizes, solids or two-directional prints.

Good pattern

I made this pattern using a Tencel jersey, which it turns out is one of the only jerseys that doesn't curl! So I improvised and folder the neckline inwards 1cm instead of outwards and added a small hem round the neck. I'm happy with the result. The only thing, the bottom bit sits a little tight on my hips. I used a very stretchy fabric and followed sizing guide: I'd size this up a little next time. Generally very happy. Will likely use the pattern again at some point.

I love that this pattern is basic enough to be a classic, but with the beautiful neckline detail making it truly one of a kind! So good!

I purchased this pattern and did a sew-along with Meghann through Topstitch. It is a fantastic pattern that is easy to follow and so versatile. The boatneck is very flattering. I love it!
